Understanding Cancer

Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the United States. Nearly half of all men and a little over one third of all women in the United States will develop cancer during their lifetimes. Today, millions of people are living with cancer or have had cancer. The sooner a cancer is found and treatment begins, the better are the chances for living for many years.

Cancer Survival Toolkit The Cancer Survival Toolbox® is a free audio program designed to help cancer survivors and caregivers develop practical skills to deal with the diagnosis, treatment and challenges of cancer.  The
Toolbox is also available in Spanish and Chinese.  The Spanish version has been revised and reformatted.  Click here to
learn more.

The National Cancer Institute's Spanish
Web site
www.cancer.gov/espanol
features themes of prevention, detection,
treatment, and survivorship.
