Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder

Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a group of chronic disorders that begin in childhood and continue through adulthood. Anywhere from 4 to 12 percent of school-aged children (boys three times more often than girls) have ADHD.

Children and adults with ADHD have difficulty sitting still, controlling impulsive behavior, paying attention, and concentrating. They often feel badly about themselves, do poorly at work and in school, and have troubled relationships with family and friends.
