American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA)

Coalition of the Institutionalized Aged and Disabled (CIA)
The Coalition of Institutionalized Aged and Disabled (CIAD) is a non-profit organization of nursing home and adult home resident councils. CIAD is governed by a Board of Directors of residents from facilities throughout the New York City area. Formed in 1973, CIAD is dedicated to protecting the rights of residents and improving the quality of their life and care. http://www.ciadny.org/

Eldercare Locator
Eldercare Locator is a public service of the U.S. Administration on Aging.  The Eldercare Locator connects older Americans and their caregivers with sources of information on senior services.  The service links those who need assistance with state and local area agencies on aging and community-based organizations that serve older adults and their caregivers.

The Long-Term Care Community Coalition (LTCCC)
Formerly the Nursing Home Community Coalition of New York State, the Long Term Care Community Coalition (LTCCC) is a non-profit watchdog and advocacy coalition that works to improve the lives of long-term care consumers by strengthening regulation, surveillance and enforcement. http://www.nhccnys.org/

National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL)
The National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) is the assisted living voice of the American Health Care Association (AHCA), the nation's largest organization representing long-term care providers. http://www.ncal.org

National Citizens' Coalition for Nursing Home Reform (NCCNHR)
The National Citizens' Coalition for Nursing Home Reform (NCCNHR) is a non-profit membership organization founded in 1975 to protect the rights, safety, and dignity of America's long-term care residents.  http://www.nccnhr.org

National Senior Citizens Law Center
The National Senior Citizens Law Center's booklet "Twenty Common Nursing Home Problems - and How to Resolve Them" is designed to help consumers better understand the rights of a nursing home resident and family members.
